5 Research Paper + Stories and Riddles

For my research paper, I want to learn more about my great great grandmother, Kristina Beatta Andersson. I am going to research the conditions for people in Sweden who joined the church during the later 1800s. Were they persecuted? Left alone? I know my great great grandmother moved to the United states so I wonder if it was to avoid persecution or just to have a better life closer to the heart of the church.
Kristina has a very interesting story. I have visited the farm that she grew up on, the farm she worked on, and the church she was baptized in as a baby.  She had a twin that died at the age of 10. She married the mormon missionary that baptized her, how cool is that?! I've also read her biography and I already feel very close to her as my ancestor. I am so excited to learn even more about her life! It will be cool to see what her teenage years were like and compare them to mine since we might as well have lived on different planets.
I am a little bit concerned about this paper though, because I absolutely suck at research. But that's okay. Hopefully it won't be too hard. And hopefully it will at least be a little bit interesting. We'll see how this goes! I'm optimistic!.....for now. My dad does a lot of Swedish family history so I think he will be a big help in this process.

Besides my writing class, the rest of life at BYU is also pretty good! My classes are fun for the most part. I'm already getting a lot better at French. I haven't had any midterms yet so pray that I do well. My sister gets home from her mission in 3 months!!! Holy cow!! Watch out boys, she's a babe. I don't know if anyone really reads my blog anyway, but it's a fun place to just write anything. Like the fact that hiking the Y is hard. I've done it 3 times and here's what I've learned: don't do it in 90 degrees, it gets easier the more you hike it, and if you hike it at night, lie down at the top with someone holding your feet because the valley is GORGEOUS upside down. I don't know what it is about it but it's beautiful.

Funny Story:
My French professor's wife is in one of my classes...
Last week I went to go camp out at the football game (that's another great story) and on my way I saw them walking together and instead of waiting awkwardly at the crosswalk with them I decided to take a complete detour and pretend I didn't see them. Talk about an awkward situation. Although it wasn't as bad as the time I walked past them kissing each other goodbye right in front of my classroom. I mean couples do it all the time, but it's never your TEACHER. Okay I realize that wasn't that funny but it was a good time hahaha.

Riddle:
For anyone who enjoys riddles (I do), here's one to ponder (if you figure it out, props to you because I didn't)-
There are 4 dwarves taken captive by an evil warlock. Each is given a red or blue hat (two and two). They are then buried up to their necks, all facing the same way, one separated from the others by a wall. The dwarf in the back can see the two in front of him, the middle, the one in front of him, and the other two can't see any of them. They are told that if any one of them can say the correct color of their own hat, all will be set free. If not, all will be executed. If the back dwarf sees a red and a blue hat in front of him, how do any of the dwarves figure out what color they are wearing? Your answer should be which dwarf figures it out and how.

Answer will be given next post!

  4. That must have been such a cool experience to visit the farm she grew up on along with the church. I'm sure you felt closer to her standing where she stood. I know I would have. You'll do great on this paper!
